Following the footsteps of Hillary and Tenzing to the Great Mountain in the world! The ultimate challenge of Everest base camp and gokyo trek offers breathtaking mountain panoramas, if you like to walk; this is one of the most inspiring places in the world to do it.
Our Everest base camp adventure is great introductory lodge trek that offer sensational mountain views and an insight into the lives of the Sherpa people. After exploring the temples, shrines, bazaars and restaurants of Kathmandu we take an exciting mountain flight to Lukla and trek up the Dudh Kosi Valley, surrounded by the soaring peaks of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. It’s a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, capital of the Kumbu Sherpas, where we are again greeted by spectacular mountain vistas. A rest day here aids acclimatization and there are great optional walks to enjoy the area. We then follow the trail to famous Tengboche, located high on a ridge where a magnificent 360-degree panorama awaits. The views of Everest, the Lhotse-Nuptse Wall, Ama Dablam and Kantega dominate this peaceful and spiritual location - surely one of the most tranquil and inspiring places in the world.
While passing Buddhist monasteries views of Everest get closer every day. This stunning trek visits both, Everest base camp and Kala Patar (5545m), a viewpoint recognized as the best vantage point to see Mount Everest which is a premier goal for many adventurous walkers in the Himalaya. After trekking to base camp and Kalapattar we return at our leisurely pace back to Namche and Lukla for our return flight to Kathmandu.

Trekking Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive, international airport in Kathmandu meet Nepal alternative treks representative in the airport and free transport to selected hotel at Thamel, The hotel is centrally located at Thamel area of Kathmandu which is renowned for its many restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs etc which cater for the tourists.
Day 02: Pre-trip Meeting and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley with professional tour guide.
In the morning after breakfast at 9 AM, we host a Pre-Trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu and introduced your trek Leader/Guide mean time and it will provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the your trek and to introduce you to other participants. This includes a final briefing and preparations for the trip.
Please advise us if you will be arriving late and are therefore unable to attend the pre-trip meeting.
In the pre-trip meeting all passengers must bring:
1. Passport.
2. Four copies of Passport size photos each.
3. Travel Insurance Policy.
4. A writing pen
5. Note pad.
After the Pre-Trip meeting and breakfast your sightseeing trip will start at 9.45 AM in the morning. We provide a private vehicle and professional tour guide. We visit Bodhanath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. After Bodhnath Stupa we visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here we see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats.
The rest of our time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in Thamel area near by your hotel. Later, we are supplied with our Trek Pack and departure information for tomorrow. Overnight at hotel.
Days 03: Fly to Lukla early morning (2800 mtr. 35 minutes) and trek to Phakding (2640 mtr. 3 hours walking) and stay over night at Lodge.
Days 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 mtr. 6/7 hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 05: Rest day in the same place for acclimatization.
Days 06: Trek to Tengboche (3867 mtr. 5 hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 07: Trek to Pheriche (4243 mtr. 5 hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 08: Rest day in the same place for acclimatization.
Days 09: Trek to Lobuche (4900 mtr. 4 hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 10: Visit to Kalapattar (5545 mtr. 4 hours walking) early in the morning and then climb back to Lobuche and stay over night at Lodge.
Days 11: Trek to Zhong la (4460 mtr. 4 ½ hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 12: Cross the Chola Pass early in the morning (5320 mtr. 6/7 hours walking) and stay over night at lodge in Gokyo(4450 mtr.).
Days 13: Visit to Gokyo Peak (5560 mtr.) in the morning (4 ½ hours walking) and stay over night at Lodge in Gokyo.
Days 14: Trek to Dole (3420 mtr. 5/6 hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 15: Trek to Khumjung Village (3620 mtr. 5 hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 16: Trek to Phadking (2640 mtr. 5 hours walking) stay over night at Lodge.
Days 17: Trek to Lukla (7/8 hours walking) stay and over night at Lodge.
Days 18: Fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning (35 minutes) and stay over night at hotel.
Day 19: Departure Day in your home country. Nepal alternative treks will provide you free transport to international trivuwan airports. |
