Annapurna Circuit Trekking

Annapurna circuit treks takes you around the world's tenth highest mountain, Annapurna I ( 8,091m./26,700 ft.), crosses the Throng La Pass (5,416m/17,872ft.) from Manang to Muktinath, and takes in the magnificent mountain views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Fishtail and other snow peaks through flight to Pokhara from Jomsom.

Overview

Annapurna Circuit Trekking

Nepal alternative treks is arranging Annapurna circuit trekking with alternative route which avoids crowd and dusty gravel road as much as possible. We ensure that you enjoy the off the beaten track, quieter natural trail, untouched villages by modernity, local culture and unwritten history. As this trek is being so much disturbed by road construction in both sides, those trekkers who prefer to trek alternatively and to make something different and something special, we have designed this trip for them. We hear the rumor that Annapurna circuit is death, but it is not completely right because it’s natural beauties, Annapurna Himalaya ranges, hidden cultures in alternative route and highest elevated lake “ Tilicho lake” beautiful as it used to be.

During this trek, you will be staying at nice lodges but not classical towns; we take you to those villages where you can interact with local people, authentic local food and culture. Annapurna circuit treks takes you around the world’s tenth highest mountain, Annapurna I ( 8,091m./26,700 ft.), crosses the Throng La Pass (5,416m/17,872ft.) from Manang to Muktinath, and takes in the magnificent mountain views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Fishtail and other snow peaks through flight to Pokhara from Jomsom.

This trip is truly an amazing part of Nepal. The trek takes you from a low elevation of 830m. to 5,416m and back. While you are on this trek, you will encounter ten different ethnic groups and pass through four different climate zones. This magical trek reaches its zenith at 5,416m. and traverses all the way through agricultural villages to high mountain passes that resemble mountain peaks and also to the beginning of the Tibetan Plateau.

Our experienced, helpful and dedicated team will make your trip successful and memorable for your lifetime achievement.

After he offers you 100 rupees to pay, you will get blessing from him for impending crossing of the Thorong la pass by tying a sacred thread around your neck. Hi is named 100 rupees lama from this traditional system.

Khangsar Village: Khangsar is the last village after Manang and before Jomsom. It is a collection of traditional stone buildings surrounding a large village square. It is lovely old village and near there a small Sakyapa monastery is situated.

Milarepa Cave: It is one of the interesting place to visit. In legend, local people believe Milarepa used to meditate here in ancient period.

Ice Lake: It is excellent to visit but quite a long walk to reach there and come back. You have to be prepared for 7 hours walk with pack lunch and enough water.

Day 7: Manang- Batase danda-Yak kharka (4110m.) 3-4 hrs.

Today is a short walk up to Yak Kharka, a small settlement. Gradual ascent is the key to avoiding altitude problems. Today, we walk short to avoid AMS. Stay there overnight at lodge. B+L+D

Make your way to the village of Throng Phedi. After 3-4 hours of trekking, you will reach this small, busy settlement which caters to both trekkers and climbers. It is used as a base camp as well as the starting point for the climb up to the famous pass – Throng La. We suggest you stay here instead of going further to High camp to be safe from Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).

In the afternoon, after lunch, climb up to High camp and come back to stay overnight at Phedi for acclimatization. B+L+D

Day 9: Throng Phedi-Throng La Pass (5416m.)-Muktinath (3800m.) 9 hrs

Relax whole afternoon and celebrate with your guide/porters after big success of Thorong la pass.
